1.2. “Extension” – the browser add‑on through which you record page interactions.

1.3. “User” or “you” – anyone who installs or uses the Extension.

1.4. “Recording” – a sequence of clicks, mouse movements, keystrokes, scrolls and any captured page‑element metadata while the recorder is active.

1.5. “Services” – the ability to save Recordings locally (via your file system) or export them to a MaxTAF project in our web app using the “Send to MaxTAF” button.

2. Scope and Purpose

2.1. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and secure data when you use the Extension. Installing or using the Extension constitutes your agreement to this policy.

3. Information We Collect

3.1. Recording Data (only when you press “Record”)

3.1.1. User activity: your clicks, mouse movements, scroll events and keystrokes.

3.1.2. Page‑element metadata: minimal identifiers (e.g. element IDs, CSS selectors or visible text labels) needed to know which element was clicked or interacted with—not full DOM snapshots or page content for replay.

3.1.3. Web history: page URL and timestamp only if you record across multiple pages and choose to export.

3.1.4. Note: Until you click “Send to MaxTAF,” your Recording stays in your browser’s local storage or in a file you download. We never see it.

3.2. No Analytics or Crash Reporting
We do not collect any usage metrics, crash reports or other telemetry.

4. How We Use Your Data

4.1. To identify which elements you interacted with when recording your script.

4.2. To transfer your Recording into your MaxTAF project when you click “Send to MaxTAF.”

5. Disclosure of Data

5.1. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

5.2. If you export a Recording, it is transmitted securely to and stored in your MaxTAF project.

5.3. We may disclose data only if legally required (e.g. court order).

6. Data Retention

6.1. Local Saves: any Recording you download remains on your device indefinitely, per your choice.

6.2. MaxTAF Cloud: Recordings you export live in your MaxTAF project until you delete them or request deletion from the MaxTAF team.

7. Data Security

7.1. In‑transit: all exports to MaxTAF occur over HTTPS.

7.2. At‑rest on your device: Recordings reside in chrome.storage.local or on your file system—protected by your device’s security.

7.3. At‑rest in MaxTAF Cloud: stored under MaxTAF’s standard security practices.

8. Your Rights

8.1. You control all Recordings: download, delete or export at any time.

8.2. To delete exports from our cloud, log into your MaxTAF account or contact support@maxtaf.com.

9. Third‑Party Processing

9.1. We do not engage third‑party analytics or logging services. Exported Recordings are stored solely within MaxTAF’s own infrastructure.

10. International Data Transfers

10.1. If you’re outside our hosting jurisdiction, know that your exported data may reside on servers located elsewhere—but under the same security commitments.

11. Changes to This Policy

11.1. We may update this policy. For material changes, we’ll notify you via the Extension or our website at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after “Last updated” means you accept the new terms.
