Automated regression testing

At MaxTAF, our primary product has always been Regression Testing for IBM Maximo. The original MaxTAF product was a test automation framework that plugged directly into Maximo. Today MaxTAF is a multi-faceted SaaS platform, but one of our major solution focuses is still in the highly accessible and intuitive automation toolkit we’ve built bespokely for the IBM Maximo, and now MAS as well, audience.

Our ethos for Maximo automation is to provide our customers with as much power as possible while remaining user friendly and accessible.

We have developed our solution with a ‘non-technical’ user as the priority; but all the while we also provide deep functionality for those challenges which require a technical hat.

Benefits

By leveraging MaxTAF’s powerful and accessible toolkit for automation your regression testing you can rapidly optimize your release cycles without distracting from your core organisational focuses.

What sets MaxTAF apart for testing IBM Maximo & MAS?

Script Recorder

MaxTAF’s script recorder is a game-changer for Maximo/MAS organisations looking to adopt test automation.

What is it?

Press record and use Maximo like normal – the recorder picks up and clicks and types you make.

Benefits

  • Rapid script development: Scripts made with MaxTAF recorder are 5-6x more rapidly developed than with other approaches or less “Maximo specialised” solutions
  • Accessible to non-technical users: With little to no scripting involved, even the least technical of users can contribute to script development
  • Flexible approach: The output of the script is in our proprietary MXML format, an XML based language that is easy to work with, but can be configured and expanded with ease, meaning both simple and highly advanced tests can be created, using a recording as a base.

MXML Scripting Language

MXML is the premier language for easy-to-work, yet extensible, test automation.

What is it?

Being XML based, this language is highly structured, easy-to-read and easy to work with.

Benefits

  • Easy configuration: XML based scripting is more ‘configuration’ than programming, and is familiar to both the functional and technical Maximo audiences, making script configuration familiar and effective.
  • Highly readable: We chose XML because it is a very effective and readable scripting language. This means understanding what a script is doing is easy both for the original creator, as well as anyone who has to work with the script thereafter.
  • Multiple Maximo specific tags: MXML contains a number of tags that perform actions highly specific to IBM Maximo, meaning that this language is extremely feature rich for the purposes of creating powerful, dynamic and effective automation for Maximo.
